Revitalization or the rejuvenation of seven fertilizer plants require an investment of 3.64 billion U.S. dollars, or around Rp 30.94 trillion. If revitalization is done, then the urea production capacity will rise 7.03 million tons per year to 9 milliontons per year.
"With this revitalization, there will be an additional six million tons of NPK. It issufficient to supply up to 2020-2025," said Managing Director of SriwijayaFertilizer (Pusri) Holding Arifin Tasrif in Karawang, West Java, on Saturday (20/08/2011).
These seven fertilizer plants which will be revitalized is the factory AAF Aceh need 60 million dollars; ago Pusri II, III, and IV of a 1.5 billion U.S. dollars; thenrevitalization Kujang Fertilizer 1C (in block Cepu) needed investment 700 millionU.S. dollars. In addition, the revitalization of the Petro Chemical Gresik II worth650 million U.S. dollars and Kaltim Fertilizer 1 for 730 million U.S. dollars.
"AAF; Pusri II, III, and IV; ago Kujang 1A, and East Kalimantan 1 must berevitalized because the old and wasteful.
Special AAF is operated again, while Kaltim 1 will be replaced Proyekk KaltimV Effective August 29, 2011. The urea plant PKG II is a new factory for national efficiency and support for NPK raw materials, "said Arifin.
Revitalization is needed to enable the saving of gas consumption of 33-34million standard British thermal units (mmbtu) to 24 mmbtu, thus saving 10mmbtu per ton of fertilizer produced.
Assuming a gas price of 5 dollars per mmbtu, then there's gas procurement cost savings of 50 dollars per ton of urea. "If the revitalization of urea fertilizerindustries would be no saving of 25 million U.S. dollars. Revitalization also savegas or the equivalent of 90 mmscfd gas used to generate 400 Mega Wattelectricity," he said.
