"Will the World Will Have Food Crisis?"

World threatened with food crisis in 2050. At that time, as many as 9.3 billion people are likely to experience shortages of food supplies.

It is delivered by the Corporate Affairs Lead Mosanto Indonesia Herry Kristanto in an iftar with reporters in Jakarta on Thursday (18/08/2011).
"(Sector) agriculture is a point which is quite complicated, but (still) sexy," said Herry.

Herry explained, the agricultural sector is currently in a state where resources are limited and happens to climate change.
Many farms have converted to the property.

However, he continued, the world's population continues to grow with an estimated reach 9.3 billion people, about 40 years to come.
"We face a global food security issues," he said.

"One in six people do not have enough food in a day. Half of the farmers," he said as a picture of the food crisis that may occur.

He said the increase in incomes of the world population also affect the increased food needs.
"China's first grain-exporting countries is now a net importer," he said.

In fact, the grain was necessary not only for human consumption, but also as fodder.

Therefore, he continued, sustainable agriculture to be the solution.
It is the core of the Monsanto conducted today. The purpose of these farms is how to meet the needs of farming today's society while increasing the ability of the next generation to meet their needs.

He says Monsanto has three core solutions related to sustainable agriculture, which produces more than any seed that is planted (Produce more), planted with little natural resources (Conserve more), and improve the welfare of farmers (Improving lives).

"(Related Conserve more) that we offer is how to generate (amount) of the same output, but only a third of his input," Herry said associated one of the core solution.
The input will be reduced is the use of water, fertilizer, and even land.

This being the case, Monsanto will seek to provide superior agricultural seeds as well as providing training to farmers in order to generate maximum production from natural resources are minimal.
